BACARDÍ - Music Liberates Music

BACARDÍ’s Music Liberates Music program has always looked to champion rising talent in the music industry. This year their focus was to help up-and-coming artists with limited resources, get access to quality producers and beat makers that would normally be out of reach.

So we partnered with Grammy-winning ‘Producer of the Year’ Boi-1da to create Boi-1da.i—an open-source A.I. version of himself. This A.I. was trained in Boi-1da’s production skills, so that it could mirror his knowledge, style and taste in music. We then released this A.I. tool to the world, allowing any up-and-coming talent to improve their demos with his unique touch, based on the their prompts and inputs like bpm, instruments, key and style influences. For the first time, any artist could access Boi-1da’s skills and beats, democratizing high quality production for all.

I wish I could do more—be in more than one place at once, collaborate with more people, work on more tracks—but there are very human, physical limitations to doing so. With this , I can work with a wider group of artists at the same time, before adding the final human touch in-studio
— Boi-1da, Music Producer

After launching the A.I tool to the world, artists began creating their tracks. Boi-1da then selected his favorite five demos to feature on an exclusive album—The Concept A.I.bum.

To make the tool, we partnered with AudioShake an AI-powered audio platform that separates and analyzes audio files and Tuney and AI-powered platform that lets you generate, customize, and sync soundtracks to your video content.

Working with Tuney we trained an AI remixing tool on a selection of beats from Boi-1da's unreleased catalog. This tool, powered by AudioShake, used stems to learn the unique sounds, cadence, and style of Boi-1da’s musical style. With stems, it could then generate remixes and produce variations of up-and-coming artists uploaded demos that matched the style of Boi-1da.

That’s how you support emerging artists, while starting a conversation around how A.I can help the music industry
